Nezamiyeh Mansion

About Nezamiyeh Mansion

Nezamiyeh Mansion is a Historical Building belonging to the end of the Qajar period and the beginning of the Pahlavi period.

During his Ministry, Mirza Aqa Khan Nouri, the Prime Minister of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, became interested in expanding his land and gardens in the area around the current Baharestan Square and named it Nezamiyeh Garden because his son’s nickname was Nizam al-Mulk in the Qajar court.

After the death of Mirza Aqa Khan, this garden was divided among his heirs, some heirs kept these lands and some sold parts. One of those who bought the land from the heirs in the late Qajar period was Kazem Khan Fatahi Nouri, who built a Duplex Mansion with well executed brickwork on this land, which we know as the Nezamiyeh Mansion.

Although, some sources believe that Kazem Khan bought the land along with the mansion.

Kazem Khan was an employee of the German embassy in Iran. He also worked in this embassy in the midst of World War II.

He lived in this mansion together with his wife Zahra, whom we call Khanom Jaan, and his niece and adopted daughter, Alam Taj, and other members.

Currently, the owner of this building is the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, which has been entrusted by the Historical Monuments Restoration Fund to the private sector, who will protect this building with the application as a Boutique Hotel after proper restoration and letting life flow in the environment.
